A live status badge drawn as a glaze surface mid-firing: gas bubbles burst through the molten glaze and the melt either flows back over the crater (heals) or, when surface tension has failed, pulls away into a ragged bare patch that never closes (crawling). Three real ceramics behaviours standing in for operational, degraded and down.
